“The whole staff proved to be very inviting and understanding. Our wedding reception was the first held in the inside dining room and they were happy to work with our plans.”
What inspired you to choose Jimbour House as your wedding venue? Were there any specific features or aspects of the property that stood out to you?
“Initially we’d come to know Jimbour through the opera they stage during the year. The property and house were beautiful, and it just so happened to have a small, gorgeous chapel right there on the grounds. This, combined with the dining room where we held our reception, really sealed the deal.”
What were some highlights of your wedding day and the moments that truly made a lasting impression on you.
“Praying for a break in the rain and remembering to bring some food to my new wife after the ceremony were chief concerns of mine. But my fondest memory was seeing my wife walk down the aisle. The closeness of the chapel, the music, it was all incredibly poignant. “
Jimbour House is known for its stunning gardens and historical architecture. How did you incorporate the venue’s natural beauty and historical charm into your wedding decor and theme?
“I left that to my wife, Elizabeth. She is quite talented with aesthetics and she spent a while collecting brass vases for the tables. She paired this with poppies, native flowers and dark green candles, and this tied in very well with the splendor of the rooms.”
Can you share some memorable moments from your wedding day at Jimbour House that you’ll cherish forever? Were there any unique or unexpected experiences that made your day extra special?
“The delicious catering from a business in Toowoomba, the hospitable nature of the waiters and organisers, and finally snatching a few quiet moments to be newlyweds after all the busyness.”
