Jen & Jordan. A beautiful wedding at Jimbour House.

Jen & Jordan’s wedding was one that they will remember forever. Their wedding was held under our famous Fig Tree on the 13th of November, followed by Canapes in the courtyard and reception in the hangar. We spoke to the lovely Jen to talk about her experience at Jimbour House.

How would you describe your Jimbour House experience?

From beginning to end, we cannot fault Jimbour House. My Mother and I visited Jimbour back in 2019 when we just stumbled across Jimbour on a whim, we instantly fell in love. Cancelled all other visitations and locked the location in! (Yes, I did book the location without my Fiancé seeing it, but I knew he would love it!). We met with Sandra who showed us around the grounds, so full of knowledge and love for the House – nothing was too much trouble and we felt so comfortable. The staff were absolutely amazing! We unfortunately had to postpone due to COVID-19 and this was no trouble, they were so supportive and locked a new date in with no stress. We were able to come out to the site on multiple occasions to nut the finer details out. After my many emails confirming details, asking a thousand questions – nothing was ever too much trouble. The day went so smoothly, very professional, and helpful. We truly felt the staff at Jimbour House cared for us, ensuring our day was perfect, which it was! They looked after any little dramas on the day without alluding to anything – we only found out the next day there were some potential dramas. We honestly, could not ask for a better venue and staff.

Our guests had an absolute ball, we had the most memorable day and it would not have been anything that it was without Jimbour and the staff! I could literally rant on for days about how amazing our experience was. I honestly could not think of a single negative thing to say!

What was the highlight of the event?

I honestly could not pinpoint a highlight; the day was so perfect. From getting ready at the venue and in the house to relaxing enjoying the grounds – we felt very special. The ceremony location was just stunning. The surprise of canapes in the courtyard to the reception in the Hanger which was just so fun! Each part of the day had an element of surprise for our guests (our guests didn’t know the location – they got on a bus with no info!). Although, I must say, we did enjoy our “alone” time getting our photos probably the most.. To walk around Jimbour House and the grounds, in our bubble, at sunset was something special!!

We would recommend Jimbour House 1000 times over!

Do you have any tips for someone planning their wedding soon?

Gosh, planning a wedding is a huge task. Remember to enjoy the process together, think about what is important to you as a couple and branch out from there. It is so easy to get caught up in outside influences, family, friends, etc. of what they think you should do, or how things should be. It’s your day, it’s about entering a partnership with your soon to be spouse, your day should reflect your relationship. Stay true to yourselves, your relationship and you will plan the most amazing day for you two to remember forever. Lists, also lists. I love an organisational moment, it’s so easy to get overwhelmed, plan it out, create a list and tick things off as you go!

Is there anything else you would like to mention?

Jimbour House recommended some amazing vendors which was a huge help! Being a venue that you must bring in outside vendors was a little overwhelming at the beginning, but we found nearly all our vendors from Jimbour’s recommendations. Photographer, caterer, florist & stylist – they were all amazing.

Thank you Jen & Jordan!
