When bringing wedding visions to life, Carissa Alfaro and her team at Emunah Events do more than create stunning floral designs – they transform spaces and curate memorable experiences.
With nearly a decade of industry experience, Carissa’s passion for floral styling and event management has positioned Emunah Events as one of the most sought-after vendors for weddings and events in Queensland.
Carissa’s journey began when she co-founded Emunah Events while planning her first baby shower, transforming what was once a creative hobby into a flourishing business. “I’d been working for a major bank, handling a lot of the event planning and marketing,” Carissa shares. “Starting Emunah was a natural step, and I haven’t looked back since.”
Her journey into the wedding industry started much earlier. As a high school student, Carissa worked with a bridal designer in Brisbane, assisting in creating wedding gowns and sharing in the emotional moments when brides found their dream dress. “Those experiences inspired me to stay connected to the wedding industry in some way,” Carissa recalls.
Today, Emunah Events offers various services, including floral design and styling and full planning and coordination. Carissa’s team prides itself on working closely with each couple to create tailored experiences to either enhance their existing concepts or start from scratch, offering comprehensive proposals that show them their day before it happens.
When working at Jimbour House, Carissa’s admiration for the venue shines through. “The history and architecture of Jimbour House align perfectly with the essence of what we create,” she says. “Its European design and antique furniture transport its guests, and we love incorporating these elements into our events to capture the spirit of the venue and the connection it fosters with our couples.”
In April 2024, Carissa and her team had the joy of designing Abbey and Tim’s wedding at Jimbour House. “The day was filled with so much laughter and love,” she recalls. “There were so many moving parts, and external vendors came together seamlessly to bring the design to life. The images captured that day, along with the styling, perfectly complemented Jimbour House.”
Emunah Events also led the concept design, florals, and hire for an editorial shoot held at Jimbour House earlier this year, showcasing their creative flair against the stunning heritage backdrop.
Carissa’s favourite locations at Jimbour House include the Eastern Lawn, where she imagines elegant sperry tents draped with cascading florals and intimate receptions unfolding under the stars. “The possibilities for this space are endless – it’s where my style truly shines.” Another favourite is the Courtyard: “It’s perfect for a ceremony or an intimate garden party, adorned with lounges, umbrellas, and soft blooms. It’s the ideal space for guests to mingle and connect.”
Through her dedication and unwavering commitment to her clients, Carissa continues to enchant couples and elevate Jimbour House weddings with her exquisite designs and unmatched creativity.
