Welcome to
Jimbour
A message from David Russell AM RFD KC
Welcome to Jimbour.com. Our new website has been designed to reflect our passion for excellence in everything we do. It’s important to me that your visit is a memorable experience and that we keep striving for the attention to detail that I hope makes Jimbour a very special place.
Big
ambitions
Jimbour was the first fully established pastoral enterprise on the Darling Downs, dating from 1841. Throughout this time it has been associated with a tradition of innovation – in agriculture, industry logistics and aviation in particular – as well as commitment to public service. As we embrace this new digital age, Jimbour continues to grow and evolve. We intend to use the opportunities presented by this new medium to take our presence beyond its origins in the Darling Downs where Jimbour was one of the earliest outposts of civilisation.
Reaching
out
Jimbour has been reaching far beyond its physical boundaries for decades – one of our first visitors was the explorer Ludwig Leichhardt – and our investment in digital and social media is thus a natural progression. This online environment provides the perfect medium to present the property’s history, scale and diversity, unshackled by limitations of time or geography.
Commitment
at all times
Jimbour’s flagship events are highlights in the social calendar. The hard work and relentless dedication to detail, however, continue all year round. Through live streaming and on-demand video we can now share our endeavours with a global audience before, during and after our events.
Sharing our
passions
Constantly busy, and changing all the time, we are not simply a commercial enterprise. Jimbour is a place that attracts professionals, artisans, and enthusiasts. This applies to both the people who work here and those who visit, whether to explore, to entertain or to relax with friends and family.
Sharing our
vision
Our new website, with its photography, video, features and social media posts, aims to show how Jimbour is run for the benefit of our guests and the wider community. I hope you will enjoy sharing the astonishing, and often untold, stories of this remarkable place that has been my family’s home since 1925. Most importantly for me, your visit, your experience, should be both exhilarating and memorable.
